Over the past 3 years, I've gained over 1,000,000 travel points with a simple credit card point strategy. This has allowed me to travel round trip in first class to Cape Town, South Africa, travel home in Atlanta for every holiday for free, and easily say "yes" to spontaneous travel anytime. The one card I recommend ever person have in their wallets is the Chase Sapphire for 3 reasons: 1) Chase Rapid Rewards points are the most valuable because of their dollar value and travel partners 2) the Chase Sapphire Preferred has a low $95 annual fee which is easily worth it for the signup bonus and rewards 3) the 2x points on travel and dining and 5x points on Lyfts makes it perfect as my "everyday" card. Right now you can get 80,000 points when you spend just $4k in 3 months. That's about $800-1500 of free travel just for putting your expenses on this card. Pay off your card in full every month and now you've gotten the yummy bait without getting on their hook. That's what I've been doing for 3 years and the freedom of travel is great. Enjoy!
